Section 801 of the Food, Drug, and
Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) charges the Secretary of Health and
Human Services, through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA),
with the responsibility of assuring the admissibility of foods,
drugs, cosmetics, and medical devices offered for import into the
United States.
