40 CFR Part 8 specifies procedures
that must be followed by any person or persons organizing a
nongovernmental expedition to or within Antarctica in evaluating
the potential environmental impacts of their activities. These
regulations include the required considerations and elements
relevant to environmental documentation of the evaluation, as well
as procedures for submission of environmental documentation to
allow the EPA to review whether the evaluation meets the
obligations set forth herein and the requirements of Annex I of the
Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic
Treaty.
