The Materials Act of 1947, as amended,
(30 U.S.C. 601 and 602) provides for disposal of mineral materials
from public lands by sale of free use. Disposals are made at the
discretion of the authorized officer, consistent with the 43 CFR
3600 regulations. The information collected is essential to
evaluate request for these material and, if appropriate, enter into
a binding contract with the application.
