agreed that applicants will be required to submit only an original
and two copies of the application, and will be asked voluntarily to
provide an additional two copies. (ED shall note that not sending
the additional copies will have no adverse effect on the
applicant's chances of being awarded a grant). ED has also agreed
to provide information about program outcomes and effectiveness in
response to questions posed by OMB on June 18 as soon as
possible.

Safe and Drug-Free Schools and
Communities National Programs (ESEA-A-2) legislation calls for drug
and violence prevention programs that benefit college and
university students. The institution-wide grant competition
responds to the mandate by making Federal funds available to
colleges and universities through a competitive grant-making
competition.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
