Extension without change of a currently approved collection
Approved on the
following conditions as agreed to with ED. (1) ED shall meet with
OMB to discuss an overall data collection strategy for the program,
including the development of outcome- based measures. An initial
meeting shall take place within one month of the approval of these
collections. (2) ED shall develop a data collection plan, prior to
reauthorization of IDEA, that specifies what types of information
shall be collected, how the information will be collected, and the
timing of the collections. The plan shall include uniform due dates
and streamlined reporting based on extensive consultation with
State respondents, as appropriate. Planning for this activity
should commence immediately. (4) ED shall also continue efforts to
improve State capacity to provide the statutorily mandated
information on numbers of infants and toddlers with disabilities
awaiting early intervention services, since current reporting of
this information is of inconsistent quality.

This package provides instructions and
forms necessary for States to report the number of infants and
toddlers with disabilities served under IDEA, Part H receiving
early intervention services and the services provided as indicated
on the IFSP.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
