Reinstatement without change of a previously approved
collection
The Tobacco Use Supplement to the
Current Population Survey conducted by the Bureau of the Census
will collect data from the civilian non-institutionalized
population on smoking status and prevalence, smoking intervention
dissemination, and changes in smoking norms and attitudes. The data
will be used by the National Cancer Institute to evaluate the
effectiveness of the American Stop Smoking Intervention Study for
Cancer Prevention (ASSIST), a large-scale multi-state demonstration
project.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
