Abstract: NSF SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS, AND OTHER OFFICIALS EVALUATE ALL PROPOSALS SUBMITTED TO THE AGENCY. TO ASSIST THEM IN THE EVALUATION PROCESS, NS OBTAINS THE ADVICE OF OTHER SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS, AND OTHERS WHO ARE SPECIALISTS IN THE FIELDS COVERED IN THE PROPOSALS. ASSISTANCE IS OBTAINED THROUGH MAIL REVIEW AND ASSEMBLED. REVIEWER BACKGROUND INFORMATION IS COLLECTED AT MEETINGS AND BY MAIL.
