SSA-3 IS NEEDED SO THAT A SPOUSE MAY PROVIDE EVIDENCE RELATING TO
CIRCUMSTANCES OF AN ALLEGED MARRIAGE. TH INFORMATION IS USED BY THE
SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION TO UPDATE RECORDS AS TO THE MARITAL
STATUS OF AN INDIVIDUAL. THE AFFECTED PUBLI IS COMPRISED OF PERSONS
WHO APPLY FOR SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS AND ALLEGED A CURRENT
MARRIAGE.
