OMB approves this information collection request, as amended by ED's 1/29/91 memorandum to OMB. As ED has agreed, in the context of H reauthorization, approval is granted through 12/91. In addition, ED should meet the following conditions: o Consistent with ED's response to OMB's initial concern on Part I.B of the form, ED should divide each ethnic category into two rows, one for males and one for females, to increase the utility of these data. However, if respondents find this to increase burden, they should be given the option to aggregate gender distinctions for the other three categories, as currently requested. o In Part I.C. of the form, ED should add an "other" column after column F, to record the number of tutees with characteristics other th those specified by columns D-F. o Also in Part I.C., ED should incorporate its suggestion to add another page to the report to solicit tutee profile information on the five categories, as well as reading level before and after services. o In Part II.A., Q. 1, ED should delete the words "pre and post" fro the question to allow respondents to report on any tests administered to tutees. o In Part II.B., Q. 3, ED should request copies of any reports that grantees provide which are based on the surveys completed by tutors. This is consistent with annual evaluation requirements in EDGAR.
