Report (DMR) made as a result of this proposed rulemaking must be
forwarded to OMB for clearance before they can be used and 2) the
agency must submit for OMB clearance all new information collection
instruments produced by this rulemaking and address how the
information collected will be used to determine institutional
compliance with due diligence requirements.

THE PROPOSED RULE PROTECTS THE FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT'S INTEREST IN THE LO FUND BY REQUIRING HEALTH
PROFESSIONS SCHOOLS TO IMPROVE THEIR LOAN FUN MANAGEMENT BY
REPORTING EXCESS CASH IN THEIR LOAN FUNDS AT LEAST SEMI-ANNUALLY
AND PROMPTLY REPORTING UNCOLLECTIBLE LOANS TO PHS FOR REVIEW AND
APPROVAL PRIOR TO WRITE OFF.
