Terms of Clearance: This ICR is approved with the following conditions: (1) EPA shall adjust its burden estimate for this ICR based on th likelihood of each study being required for a typical tolerance/inert petition based on current experience using the methodology developed i the Phase IV/V ICR (OMB # 2070-0107) rather than the outdated, April 1980 Cost Analyis. This shall be completed by November 1, 1990. (2) EPA shall submit an Information Correction Worksheet (ICW) for the 11,055 hour reduction associated with the proposed food additi regulations when they are promulgated. If the information requirememt are substantially modified, the ICR would need to be amended and resubmitted for review. (3) EPA shall prepare a paper for OMB by May 1, 1990 discussing the current crop tolerance grouping program and any recommendations fo expanding its use to reduce burden while satisfying EPA's data needs. At the time of the next renewal, EPA shall identify the crop groupings established during the three year period as a measure of progress or explain why new groupings cannot be identified.
