Abstract: THE REGULATION HAS ESTABLISHED SAFE UNIFORM PROCEDURES COVERING THE USE OF RADIO PHONE TECHNOLOGY IN THE RAILROAD OPERATING ENVIRONMENT. THESE COMPREHENSIVE PROCEDURES ARE CONTRIBUTING SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE REDUCTION OF HUMAN-FACTOR RELATED ACCIDENTS WHICH HAVE RESULTED FROM OTHERWISE CASUAL AND UNSTRUCTURED USE PRACTICES.
