THE U.S. HAVE SPECIFIC SODIUM-RELATED DISEASES OR DISORDERS. EVEN
LARGER NUMBERS OF U.S. HOUSEHOLDS ARE TRYING TO VOLUNTARILY REDUCE
SODIUM CONSUMPTION. INFORMATION ON SODIUM CONTENT OF FOODS WILL
ENABEL THESE PERSONS TO SELECT APPROPRIATE FOOD PRODUCTS TO ACHIEVE
DESIRED DIETARY INTAKES OF SODIUM. ONLY FOOD MANUFACTURERS WHO
CURRENTLY PROVIDE NUTRITION LABELING ON THEIR PRODUCTS WILL BE
AFFECTED BY THE MANDATORY
