THE DATA COLLECTION INSTRUMENTS ARE
NEEDED TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL MAIL SURVEY OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT
RESEARCH PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS. THE RESULTING DATA ARE USED TO
IDENTIFY NEW RESEARCH AND PROGRAMS AND TO UPDATE INFORMATION ON
ONES ALREADY LISTED IN THE NCCAN DATABASE. THIS DATABASE IS USED TO
ANSWER PUBLIC QUERIES AS WELL AS TO PREPARE ANNUAL ANALYSES OF THE
STATUS OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT RESEARCH AND PROGRAMS AS MANDATED
UNDER P.L. 93-247.
