Abstract: INTERVIEWER TURNOVER IS COSTLY AND POSES UNKNOWN THREATS TO THE QUALIT OF SURVEY DATA. HOWEVER, BEFORE COST-EFFECTIVE PROGRAMS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM, CAUSES AND CORRELATES OF ATTRITION MUST BE IDENTIFIED. THIS STUDY (PRETEST) IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN FEBRUARY 1982 AND TERMINATE BY DECEMBER 1982.
