COLON AND RECTUM CANCER MORTALITY
RATES ARE NOT ELEVATED IN FLORIDA RETIREMENT AREAS, EVEN AT OLDER
AGES, DESPITE THE FACT THAT MOST OF TH RESIDENTS OF THESE AREAS
MIGRATED TO FLORIDA FROM THE NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL U.S. WHERE
COLORECTAL CANCER MORTALITY IS SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER THAN IN THE
SOUTH. THUS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY EXISTS TO SEE WHETHER MIGRANTS TO
LOW-RISK AREAS ACTUALLY DO REDUCE THEIR RISK OF CANCER.
