Abstract: SECTION 1303.22, CFR 21, REQUIRES THAT AN APPLICANT WHO DESIRES TO MANUFACTURE A QUANTITY OF ANY BASIC CLASS OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES THAT ARE LISTED IN SCHEDULE I OR II, APPLY ON DEA FORM 189. THE INFORMATION IS USED BY THE DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR COMPUTING THE INDIVIDUAL MANUFACTURING QUOTAS FOR U.S. COMPANIES INVOLVED IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.
