Abstract: THIS PROJECT IS THE 13TH YEAR OF AN ONGOING DATA COLLECTION AND RESEARCH EFFORT THAT FOCUSES ON THE AMOUNT OF VARIABILITY AND REASONS FOR CHANGE IN THE ECONOMIC WELL-BEING OF AMERICAN FAMILIES, PARTICULARLY THOSE WITH RELATIVELY LOW INCOME. THIS PROJECT REQUIRES INTERVIEWING, PRIMARILY BY TELEPHONE, APPROXIMATELY 6400 HEADS OF HOUSEHOLDS LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.
