UNDER THE TRANSPORTATION ACT OF 1920,
RIVER AND HARBOR ACT OF 1918, AND MERCHANT MARINE ACT OF 1920, THE
CORPS OF ENGINEERS IS REQUIRED TO COLLECT INFORMATION ON HARBOR
FACILITIES; FLOATING DRYDOCKS ARE AN IMPORTANT HARBOR FACILITY. THE
PORT SERIES REPORTS ARE USED FOR PLANNING, A PORT DIRECTORY, AND
GENERAL STATISTICS.
