OMB Forms

OMB Numbers are form and information collection numbers assigned by The Office of Management and Budget. The Office of Management and Budget is the largest office within the Executive Office of the President of the United States. The OMB generates these Control Numbers under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980. The Paperwork Reduction Act mandates that all federal government agencies receive approval from OMB—in the form of a "control number"—before promulgating a paper form, website, survey or electronic submission that will impose an information collection burden on the general public. This Act helps to standardize the ways and types of information that is collected across the entire federal government. The PPA establishes the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) which manages the centralized clearinghouse for all government forms.
